Workshop with media workers on referendum, election in Sylhet

Chief Information Officer Md. Nizamul Kabir said, the media is the mirror of society. The responsible role of media workers on any important issue of the country gives the right direction to the state. Media workers will have to play an important role in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election and referendum.
He made these remarks while delivering a speech as the chief guest at a workshop organized by the Directorate of Information on the occasion of the referendum and the 13th National Parliament elections, organized by the Directorate of Information, at the conference room of the Sylhet Regional Information Office on Saturday.
The Chief Information Officer said that the Directorate of Information is taking and implementing a comprehensive program in view of the referendum and the national elections. On this occasion, various awareness content, TVCs, theme songs, departmental songs and postal ballot related campaigns are being carried out. In addition, seminars, workshops and exchange meetings are being organized with media workers in different departments of the country.
He further said that the youth are very enthusiastic about the referendum. Using this enthusiasm, we need to work together to conduct the National Assembly elections and the referendum in a fair and beautiful manner. At the same time, the common people and women in rural areas should be encouraged to attend the polling stations and exercise their right to vote.
Deputy Chief Information Officer Hasina Akhter presided over the workshop, while Additional Chief Information Officer Yakub Ali, Deputy Chief Information Officer Nasreen Jahan Lipi and Molla Ahmed Qutubuddin conducted sessions on various topics. Senior Information Officers K. M. Khalid Bin Zaman and Tahmina Akhter, Information Officer Bithi Akhter and Assistant Director of Sylhet District Information Office Rakibul Hasan were present at the time.
At the workshop, journalists from national dailies, electronic media, and regional newspapers shared their opinions and election-related experiences.
