Eleven party alliances have staged sit-in programs, formed human chains and submitted memorandums in Satkhira to protest the severe gas crisis, severe load shedding, electricity price hike, exorbitant bill collection, deteriorating law and order situation and rising prices of essential commodities across the country.

The program was held in front of the Satkhira Deputy Commissioner's office at 3:30 pm on Thursday . Leaders and activists of various political and social organizations participated in the program organized as part of the central program. At the end of the program, a memorandum was submitted to the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner. Since the Deputy Commissioner was absent, the leaders of the 11-party unity handed over the memorandum to Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sheikh Moinul Islam Moin.

Present at the event were Maulana Azizur Rahman, Secretary of Satkhira District Branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP's Satkhira District Convener Kamruzzaman Bulu, District Jamaat Assistant Secretary Lecturer Omar Faruk, Satkhira City Shibir President Mehedi Hasan, District Working Committee Member Advocate Abdus Subhan Makul, Municipal Jamaat Secretary Khorshed Alam, Assistant Secretary Ed Abu Taleb, Municipal Shibir Secretary Nurun Nabi, Ward No. 8 Jamaat President Abdul Gafur, Ward No. 9 President Azharul Islam and Ward No. 2 President Shafiqul Islam, among others.
Earlier, in his speech as the chief guest at the sit-in program and human chain, Jamaat-e-Islami's Satkhira district branch secretary Maulana Azizur Rahman said that industries, businesses and trade and the normal life of the common people are being severely disrupted due to the fuel oil and gas crisis. On the other hand, public suffering has reached an extreme level due to prolonged load shedding, increase in electricity prices and allegations of exorbitant bills.
