14,000 selected as primary teachers after fast-track exams

The Directorate of Primary Education has published the final results of recruitment for assistant teachers in government primary schools, appointing 14,384 candidates across 61 districts.
The results were released on Sunday night on the directorate’s website, just a week after the oral exams ended and within a month of the written test.
The written exam was held on Jan 9 at 1,408 centres nationwide, with 830,088 candidates appearing.
Results were published on Jan 21, declaring 69,265 successful.
Oral tests for those who passed began on Jan 28 and concluded on Feb 3.
The final results were published a week later.
