The central committee of BNP has expelled five top leaders of BNP and Jubo Dal in Mirsarai, Chattogram. The announcement came through a statement signed by the party’s Central Senior Joint Secretary General, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, on Tuesday.
The official notice was shared on BNP Cell Media’s verified official page.
According to the statement, due to severe violation of party discipline through internal conflict and chaos, the following individuals have been expelled from all levels of the party, including their primary memberships are :Nurul Amin Chairman – Joint Convener of BNP North District Chattogram, Gazi Nizam Uddin – Former Member Secretary of Mirsarai Upazila BNP, Didarul Islam Miyaji – Former Convener of Baraiahat Municipality BNP, Sirajul Islam – Jubo Dal leader and Kamal Uddin, Jubo Dal leader
In another notice, the committee led by Ghulam Akbar Khandakar, Convener of BNP North District Chattogram, has also been dissolved. It was announced that a new convening committee will be formed soon.
In protest of the expulsions, a faction of BNP staged protest rallies and demonstrations on Wednesday in Baraiahat and Mirsarai Sadar. Speakers at the events included: Mdd. Mohiuddin – Former Convener, Mirsarai Municipality BNP, Shahinur Kader Swapon – Former Convener, Upazila Jubo Dal, Rafiquzzaman – Former Convener, Khaiyachhara Union BNP, Jahed Hossain – Former Member Secretary, Mirsarai Municipality BNP, Shah Forkan – Convener, Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal, Ashraf Uddin – Convener, Krishak Dal, Didarul Karim Master – President, Sramik Dal, Yasin Mia – Member Secretary, Korehat Union BNP, Nazmul Haque Sohag – Former General Secretary, Hinguli Union BNP, Rafiqul Islam Bhuiyan – Former Member Secretary, Kamran Sarwardi – Former Joint Convener, Baraiahat Municipality BNP, Iftekhar Uddin Mahmud Gipson – Jubo Dal leader, Nurul Absar Miyaji, Jubo Dal leader and Minhaj Uddin Titu, Joint General Secretary, Chattogram North District Chhatra Dal
Earlier on Tuesday night, shortly after the expulsion letters were circulated, Nurul Amin Chairman's followers erupted in protest across several areas including Bartakia, Jorarganj, Baraiahat, and Mirsarai.
