The Bangladesh Anser and Village Defence Party (VDP) has adopted comprehensive security measures to ensure a peaceful, unhindered, and festive celebration of Sharadiya Durga Puja, deploying 51,442 trained personnel across 8,031 puja mandaps in 13 districts under the Dhaka range.

The personnel will remain on duty for eight consecutive days, from October 15 to October 22, to safeguard puja mandaps and maintain law and order.

The deployment details were announced on Thursday during a briefing session for security personnel held at the Narayanganj Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium.

Under the directives of Dhaka Range Deputy Director General Md. Asaduzzaman Gani, BVM, PVMS, respective district commandants have distributed responsibilities based on the risk assessments of the puja mandaps. As per the security plan, eight Ansar-VDP members will be stationed at high-risk puja mandaps, while six members will guard general and low-risk mandaps, ensuring visitor safety and maintaining order.

To further reinforce security, 29 mobile striking force teams comprising Ansar Battalion members have been stationed across the 13 districts within the Dhaka range. Each team consists of six Ansar Battalion members of various ranks, tasked with responding rapidly to emergencies, assisting law enforcement agencies, and executing security operations as required.

 Deputy Director General Md. Asaduzzaman Gani instructed personnel to execute their duties with utmost vigilance, professionalism, and dedication. He underscored the importance of maintaining close coordination with local administrations, police, and relevant agencies, specifically directing personnel to ensure the safety of women, children, and visitors, and to remain prepared to counter any untoward incidents without negligence.

To enhance monitoring and responsiveness, personnel were briefed on utilizing the integrated digital security platform 'Sharadiya Surokkha App' for information sharing and situational tracking. Members acting as end-users were instructed to promptly upload information, photos, and videos regarding any incitement, rumors, propaganda, or untoward incidents to alert relevant authorities.

Narayanganj District Ansar and VDP Commandant Md. Helal Uddin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer S.M. Fayez Uddin, and other relevant officials were present at the briefing.
