7-day Tree Fair opens in Gaibandha

A seven -day Tree and Aquaculture Fair started on Monday at the local independence premises at the Gaibandha District Administration and Social Forestry Zone.
Deputy Commissioner Chowdhury Moazzam Ahmed inaugurated the Fair. This year's theme at the fair was' planned forestry, building green Bangladesh.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (overall) AKM Hedayatul Islam presided over the inauguration of the fair among others, Additional Superintendent of Police Revolt Kumar Kumar, Deputy Director of the Gaibandha Agricultural Extension Department. Khorshed Alam, Rangpur Social Forest Department Divisional Forest Officer Molla Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Mahmud Al Hasan, Acting Deputy Director of the District Forest Department Shariful Islam. Shirin Akter performed the program. Finally, the chief guest distributed a forest, fruit and medicinal plants in the hands of every student present at the fair.
At the fair, 3 stalls of fruit, forest and medicinal plants have been installed. The fair will run from 9 am to 5pm every day.
The speakers said that the development of the environment and the neighborhood, the adverse effects of climate change, the creation of new employment, the poverty alleviation of poverty alleviation is immense in the development of socio-economic conditions.
