Galachipa (Patuakhali)  Correspondent

A human chain was formed in Galachipa to protest the brutal murder of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin, a staff reporter of the daily newspaper Pratidin Kagoj, in Gazipur, and the serious injury of journalist Anwar with the intention of killing him, and the ongoing torture and threats against journalists across the country. 

At the same time, exemplary punishment for the accused and ensuring the safety of journalists across the country were demanded.

This program was organized on Monday at 9 am in front of the Galachipa Police Station Complex by all journalists working in Galachipa.

The speakers in the human chain said that in a free country, it is extremely worrying and shameful to kill a journalist like this and injure another in an attempted murder. The Constitution of Bangladesh has given journalists the right to gather news, disseminate information and express opinions. No individual, group or state organization can take away this right by threatening them.  Ensuring the safety of journalists is the constitutional responsibility of the state. The killers must be immediately punished, otherwise the journalistic community will go on a more stringent movement.
