 In continuation of the force's infrastructure modernization and member welfare initiatives, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud formally inaugurated a newly constructed soldier barracks named ‘Prottoy’ at the force headquarters on Sunday.

The modern facility has been engineered to maximize natural light and ventilation while incorporating contemporary dining halls and essential amenities tailored to support a comfortable, hygienic, and disciplined living environment for personnel deployed at the headquarters.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud emphasized that comprehensive institutional reforms and structural upgrades are being executed under a long-term, planned framework. He noted that given national land constraints, every structure and space must be utilized with maximum efficiency, leaving no room for resource wastage or unnecessary extravagance.

Addressing long-standing residential shortages at the headquarters, the Director General highlighted recent housing expansions and revealed plans for a large-scale barracks capable of accommodating nearly 1,000 members. He added that the preparation of a Development Project Proposal (DPP) in coordination with the Public Works Department is progressing rapidly.

The Director General reiterated that safeguarding basic rights, housing, and overall welfare remains a core leadership commitment. To ensure proper upkeep and durability, clear operational duties and regular monitoring mechanisms have been instituted for plumbing, electrical systems, and general cleanliness across all facilities.

Regarding professional standards, the Director General asserted that individual self-interest, negligence, or unethical conduct will not be tolerated within a disciplined force. He assured that dutiful, sincere, and professional contributions will be duly recognized, while strict administrative measures will be enforced against irregularity and dereliction of duty.

The inauguration event was attended by Ansar-VDP Additional Director General Brigadier General Mamunur Rashid, alongside senior officers and personnel across various operational tiers.
