Two friends Abdullah and Masud Parvez, jointly started a land buying and selling business from July 7, 2024 at Kutubpur in Uttar Rasulpur area under Narayanganj Sadar Upazila.
At the beginning of the business, they agreed to share profits equally (50/50). However, when Parvez refused to give Abdullah his half of the profit, conflict arose between them.
Abdullah then decided to leave the partnership and do business independently. He demanded his invested capital or share money back, but Masud Parvez attacked him instead and physically assaulted him.
The victim, Abdullah told The Country Today,
“I had been running a partnership business with Masud Parvez for a year, and the business grew significantly. Our agreement was that he would give me 50% of the profit. But after making profit, he refused to share my portion and tried to force me out of the business. Seeing his actions, I informed the local residents and planned to run the business independently. I asked him to return my investment or the money from my supplied consignments ".
He added that, over this matter, he started issuing various threats to kill me. On August 22 noon, he came to my house with several miscreants, assaulted me, and left me injured with bleeding wounds on my left arm and forehead. Later, with the help of local residents, I narrowly escaped with my life. I have filed a written complaint regarding the incident at Fatullah Model Police Station.
