Case filed for attacks, looting of businesses, homes due to non-payment of extortion

There have been allegations of attacks, vandalism and looting of businesses and homes in the Munsurnagar area bordering Sarishabari in Jamalpur over a previous dispute.
Later, the victim businessman Lal Chan alias Lalu Mia filed a complaint regarding the matter.
He filed a case in the Sirajganj Administrative Court.
According to the case report, there was a long-standing social and business dispute between Lal Chan alias Lalu Mia, son of Nedu Bhuiyan of Purba Majnabari village of Mansurnagar union of Kazipur upazila bordering Sarishabari, and a group of people from the same area. As a result, the accused organized themselves in a planned manner and attacked Lalu Mia's shop and residence. In this incident, a case has been filed naming Afsar Ali, son of the deceased Danesh Mandal of the area, as the main accused and 10 others, and 10-15 other unidentified people as accused.
The complaint states that the accused attacked Lalu Mia's grocery shop at night with country-made weapons. Lalu Mia alleged that they vandalized the shop and looted goods worth about 4 lakh 29 thousand taka from the shop. Later, it is alleged that the attackers also attacked the residence. Lalu Mia claims that they vandalized the doors and windows and looted cash and gold ornaments from the house.
Victim Lalu Mia said, "A gang organized to demand extortion attacked my business establishment and residence. In this incident, the attackers looted and took away cash and goods. Since the accused are influential in the area, no one dares to protest."
Afsar Ali denied the allegations and said that Lalu Mia kept petrol in stock.
He was selling it at a high price. When the people of the area opposed him, he filed a case against us, making false allegations.
Seeking the intervention of the concerned authorities in this regard, the victim has demanded a fair investigation and the speedy bringing of the culprits to justice.
