
Chhatra League leader who escaped police custody in Barishal arrested in Dhaka

Khaled Khan Robin, a Chhatra League leader who escaped police custody in Barishal, has been arrested by police in the capital. Robin, the president of the Chhatra League’s Charkaua Union unit in Barishal Sadar Upazila, was apprehended in the early hours of Thursday, from KC Hospital and Diagnostic Centre in Dhaka’s Dakshinkhan area.
Confirming the matter, Barishal Kotwali Model Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman stated that police conducted operations in Barishal city and various locations in Dhaka to recapture Robin. With the aid of information technology, he was arrested from the hospital in Dakshinkhan. Legal action will be taken against him.
Previously, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, local residents detained Robin in the Amtala Mor area of Barishal city and handed him over to the police.
While receiving treatment for injuries at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, Robin managed to escape custody. Following this incident, four police officers, including the in-charge of Barishal Metropolitan Police’s Steamer Ghat Police Outpost, were suspended.
