Coast Guard detained 4 drug traffickers, seized 20,000 Yaba pills in Teknaf

In a targeted drive against narcotics trafficking, Bangladesh Coast Guard personnel arrested three drug traffickers—including two Myanmar nationals—and seized 20,000 Yaba pills valued at around Tk 1 crore alongside smuggled pharmaceuticals in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon informed this in a press release on Sunday afternoon.
Acting on a secret tip-off, a special team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a raid at a residential house in the Naityongpara area under Teknaf Police Station at around 4:00 AM on Sunday.
During the search, personnel recovered 20,000 Yaba tablets and a consignment of various medicines intended for smuggling into Myanmar, detaining two foreign nationals on-site.
Primary interrogation revealed that the two foreign suspects had swam across the Naf River from Myanmar carrying the Yaba consignment and took shelter in the house. Under the leadership of the homeowner, they planned to traffic the narcotics into Bangladesh while illegally exporting pharmaceutical supplies back to Myanmar upon their return.
Based on information provided by the detainees, Coast Guard officers subsequently arrested the local Bangladeshi accomplice who owned the residence.
Legal procedures regarding the seized Yaba, confiscated pharmaceuticals, and the three arrested suspects have been taken.
