Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of the Opposition in the National Parliament, stated that the eight-point demand announced by the 11-party alliance—which includes the implementation of the referendum verdict—is not the demand of any single political party, but rather the demand of the people. He warned that if the people's demands are ignored, the movement will be expanded further; if necessary, the eight-point demand could evolve into a single-point demand at any moment.

He made these remarks on Saturday while addressing various roadside rallies during the 11-party alliance's long march from Dhaka to Rangpur. The concluding event of the long march was held at the Rangpur Zilla School grounds.

People began arriving at the vast Rangpur Zilla School grounds from various districts and upazilas of the Rangpur division from the morning. By midday, the grounds were packed to capacity. After 5 PM, the crowd spilled over beyond the school grounds, spreading in all directions and creating a sea of people everywhere.

The Jamaat Ameer noted that prior to the election, Asadul Habib Dulu—a minister elected from Lalmonirhat—had spoken about implementing the Teesta Master Plan, famously asking, "Konthe Bahe, Jago" (Wake up, brother). Expressing regret, the Jamaat Ameer pointed out that the minister has now remained silent for undisclosed reasons. He demanded the immediate implementation of the Teesta Master Plan. At the massive concluding rally held at Rangpur Zilla School on Saturday following the long march, speeches were delivered by top leaders of the 11-party alliance, including LDP’s Dr. Oli Ahmed (Bir Bikram), Khelafat Majlish’s Allama Mamunul Haque, Jamaat’s Nayebe AmIr ATm Azharul Islam MP, Jamaat Secretary General Professor Golam Parwar, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, Jamaat MP Rafiqul Islam Khan,  AB Party’s Mujibur Rahman Monju, NCP leader Nahid Islam (MP), Akhtar Hossain MP, Sarjis Alam, and Jamaat leader Professor Mahbubur Rahman MP, alongside other central as well as local leaders of the alliance.

Student leaders who addressed the gathering included DUCSU VP Sadik Kayem, GS Farhad Hossain, and Chhatra Shibir Central Secretary General Sibgatullah, as well as various local and regional student leaders.

Speaking earlier at the rally at the capital's Manik Mia Avenue—where the long march began he stated, "In the interest of the nation, the 11-party alliance's eight-point demand could transform into a single-point demand at any moment." Urging the government to accept these demands, he asserted that the movement could not be halted through pressure or intimidation.
