
DU to rebuild Central Mosque with support of Turkey

It is worth noting that the work of digital survey and final design is currently underway to reconstruct the Dhaka University Central Mosque Complex. It is expected that the construction work will begin soon after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Dhaka University authorities and the IDDEF authorities in this regard.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, "The reconstruction of the Dhaka University Central Mosque has been our long-standing demand. He expressed hope that the long-standing expectation of the university family, including teachers and students, will be fulfilled soon through the construction of this state-of-the-art mosque complex." He thanked and expressed gratitude to the IDDEF authorities of Turkey for extending their support in this construction work. In addition, he thanked the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency authorities for their cooperation in the renovation of the university's medical center.
Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury informed the meeting about the possible design and facilities of the Central Mosque Complex.
During this time, Professor of the Department of Accounting Md. Nazim Uddin Bhuiyan, Professor of the Department of Persian Language and Literature Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Sarkar, Professor of the Department of Chemistry Dr. Kawsari Akhtar, Associate Professor of the Department of World Religions and Culture Dr. Muha. Abdullah Al Mahmud, Chairman of Al Markazul Islam Hafez Maulana Hamza Shahidul Islam, DMD of PKSF Md. Hasan Khaled and heads of various offices of Dhaka University were present.
It is worth noting that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between Dhaka University and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TICA) to improve the quality of healthcare at the university's medical center.
Dhaka University Central Mosque will be rebuilt with the financial support of IDDEF , the largest non-governmental aid organization in Turkey.
This mosque complex will have all kinds of modern facilities including education and research facilities.
Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan met with IDDEF International Coordinator Mr. Salahuddin Ceylan and discussed various aspects of the construction of the university's mosque complex on Friday.

According to the MoU, the renovation work of the Martyr Intellectual Dr. Mohammad Mortaza Medical Center has already started with the financial support of TICA. TICA will provide modern medical equipment to this medical center for disease diagnosis and advanced therapeutic services. To enhance scientific research and increase research capacity, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency will install an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) in the Science Laboratory of Dhaka University. In addition, TICA will provide a state-of-the-art ambulance to the university medical center for providing emergency medical services and transporting patients.
