
Geetikobi Songho Bangladesh celebrates its 5th founding anniv

Geetikobi Songho Bangladesh, an organization dedicated to establishing the financial and moral rights of lyricists, celebrated its 5th founding anniversary at Bangla Academy Auditorium of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in Dhaka recently.
The lively presence of both renowned and emerging lyricists of the country graced the event. Discussions focused on the organization's five-year journey, its achievements, plans, and ongoing efforts to uphold the interests of Bangla music.
The event was presided over by the president of the organization, lyricist Asif Iqbal, while the welcome address was delivered by the general secretary, lyricist Joy Shahriar. Both leaders reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to preserving the dignity of Bangla music and ensuring the rightful place of lyricists in the industry.
Distinguished personalities who also spoke at the event included Shahid Mahmud Jangi, Golam Morshed, Shahidullah Farayezi, Nasir Ahmed, Dr. Mohammad Arif, Nurul Islam, Milon Khan, Tarun Munshi, Lutfor Hasan, Someshwar Oli, Johny Haque, Mahmud Manzur, Robiul Islam Jibon, and Shakif Sarowar, among others.
The celebration also welcomed notable guests from other music and cultural organizations. Among them were MCSB’s organizing secretary Shawkat Ali Emon, BMF’s general secretary Shahabul Islam Babu, and advisory board member Sadek Ali. BMF’s organizing secretary Azmir Babu and advisory board member Piaru Khan were also in attendance. Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, Managing Director of Universal Medical College and Hospital, delivered a speech as one of the guests.
New members of the organization were welcomed with flowers and ID cards by President Asif Iqbal, Vice President Bappi Khan, Joint Secretary Bakiul Alam, and Organizing Secretary Sirajum Munir. Organizing Secretary Sirajum Munir also addressed the audience regarding the organization’s ongoing administrative and strategic activities.
The event continued with a cake-cutting ceremony marking the anniversary, followed by cultural performances and a dinner. The cultural segment began with an audio-visual presentation that highlighted the organization’s five-year journey. The video was produced by Talha Bin Parvez and narrated by Adhora Jahan.
The evening featured musical performances by Nahid Hasan, Lopa Hossain, and Autumnal Moon, and poetry recitations by Hosne Ara Jolly, Lutfor Hasan, and Bakiul Alam. The event concluded with a vibrant and engaging game show participated in by the organization's members.
The entire event was anchored with enthusiasm by Cultural Secretary Saki Ahmed and IT Secretary Tushar Hasan, with warm hospitality extended by Office Secretary Apon Ahsan and Executive Member Robiul.
