General Secretary XI wins in Barendra Press Club Cricket Tournament

In a friendly cricket tournament organized by the Rajshahi Barendra Press Club, the General Secretary XI emerged victorious by defeating the President XI.
The match was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Rajshahi Divisional Women's Sports Complex ground. The friendly tournament featured a contest between the President XI and the General Secretary XI of the Rajshahi Barendra Press Club.
Winning the toss, the President XI chose to bowl first. Batting in the first innings, the General Secretary XI set a target of 163 runs in 12 overs, losing 5 wickets. In response, the President XI managed to score 116 runs in 12 overs, losing 3 wickets. Thus, the President XI was defeated by a margin of 47 runs.
Imam Hossain was named Man of the Match for his performance, scoring 35 runs off 16 balls and taking 1 wicket. Rakibul Hasan Rocky was named Best Bowler for taking 4 wickets in 3 overs.
Sponsored by Al Aqsa Developers Ltd., the match was officiated by umpires Rahim, Rakibul, and Plabon. The President XI was led by Rajshahi Barendra Press Club President Shamsul Islam, while the General Secretary XI was led by General Secretary Rezaul Karim.
Among the special guests present were Mizanur Rahman Kazi, General Secretary of the Real Estate and Developers Association of Rajshahi (REDA) and owner of Al Aqsa Developers Ltd., Kazi Shahed, General Secretary of the Rajshahi Journalists Welfare Association, senior journalist Jabid Apu from Jamuna TV, and senior sports journalist Kabir Tuhin handed over the prizes to the winners.
