
Indian youth caught with liquor after crossing border, detained by BGB

A young Indian national was detained by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) while illegally crossing the Bangladesh-India border. The 55 BGB's regular patrol team detained him on Monday morning in the Mongliya area of Chunarughat upazila.
The detained youth's name is Miton Das (24), father – Johor Lal Das, address – Silchar Town, Cachar, Assam, India. According to BGB sources, he was detained while entering Bangladesh through the border pillar area 1952/26-S.
Upon searching him, Indian rupees, Bangladeshi currency, a bottle of Indian liquor, a mobile phone, Indian Aadhaar card, PAN card, ID card, two wristwatches, a wallet, and a mobile charger were recovered.
Later, the detainee was handed over to Chunarughat police station following legal procedures. Officer-in-Charge Nur Alam confirmed the matter.
