Japan Tech Internship Career event held at DU

An on-campus career event on 'Global South-Japan Tech Talent Internship' was held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building Auditorium of Dhaka University on Monday,
Through this program, Bangladeshi students are connected with eight Japanese companies so that they can learn about technology-related internships, professional skills development, and future collaboration opportunities.
GS-JTI The program, organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan with the support of the Secretariat, Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support and Koei Research and Consulting, aims to connect Japanese businesses with emerging technology talent from the 'Global South', or developing regions, who are looking for skilled manpower and fresh perspectives in engineering and technology.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Upma Kabir delivered the welcome address at the event. Mr. Tatsuya Yamada of the GS-JTI Secretariat presented the overall introduction of the program and the interesting aspects of working in Japan. Professor Dr. Md. Mamunur Rashid, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Dhaka University, expressed the vote of thanks.
Eight Japanese companies participated in the event. The companies are—Adoro Inc., A-One Road Co. Ltd., Aster Co. Ltd., AWL Inc., Caper Inc., Green Carbon Inc., Japan Superconductivity Application Development Inc., and Noahlogy Co. Ltd. Their broad range of activities includes AI applications and online child safety, advanced manufacturing systems, disaster resilience, edge AI and computer vision, large language model platform, carbon projects and sustainable development, superconducting technology, and the use of AI in shipbuilding.
The event provides an opportunity for Bangladeshi students to interact directly with company representatives, learn about the role and application requirements of internships, and gain insight into the Japanese work environment.
