
JU VC embarks on 5-day visit to China

Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan departed Dhaka on Sunday for a five-day official visit to China, as confirmed by a press release from JU’s Acting Director of Public Relations, Mohammad Mahiuddin.
Leading a 20-member delegation under the University Grants Commission Chairman, Professor Dr. SMA Faiz, Professor Ahsan traveled to Kunming at the invitation of the Chinese government.
During the visit, he will engage with representatives from prominent Chinese institutions, including Yunnan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, and Sun Yat-sen University. Discussions will focus on strengthening educational and research collaboration, with potential agreements such as memoranda of understanding (MoUs).
He will also visit provincial education authorities, museums, cultural centers, and other institutions in Yunnan, Hubei, and Guangdong provinces.
He is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on July 11, 2025.
