A meeting was held between the leaders of the Harijan community in Lalmonirhat and Harun Or Rashid, the Jamaat-nominated parliamentary candidate for the Lalmonirhat Sadar-3 constituency on Thursday morning.
The meeting, organized at the hall of the Workers’ Welfare Federation, was presided over by Renayel Alam, president of the Lalmonirhat District Workers’ Welfare Federation. The chief guest, parliamentary candidate Harun Or Rashid, delivered a speech. He assured the elimination of all forms of discrimination faced by the Harijan community, stating that he and his party, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, have always stood by them and will continue to do so in addressing their issues.
During the meeting, Ghuglu Babu Banshfor, general secretary of the Lalmonirhat District Branch of the Bangladesh Harijan Community Unity Council, spoke and highlighted various problems faced by the Harijan community.
The meeting was attended by Hafiz Shah Alam, assistant secretary of the Lalmonirhat District Branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami; Md. Asaduzzaman, municipal president and former Shibir leader; Chhoton Banshfor, president of the Harijan Community Village Development Committee, Driver Para; Nimai Banshfor, general secretary of the Harijan Community’s Universal Shri Shri Shitala Durga Temple, Driver Para; Riday Banshfor, organizational secretary of the Jagrata Harijan Human Welfare Organization, Lalmonirhat District Branch; Sagar Bans daddy, general secretary of the same organization; and Imon Banshfor and Jitn Banshfor, along with other district and upazila leaders of the Harijan community.
