Local Government Division Secretary of LGRD and Cooperatives Md Rezaul Maksid Jahedi said, our work will be people-centric so that the general public can get one-stop services from home and that is the goal the government.
He made this statement on Friday at the inauguration ceremony of a cashless system for holding tax and trade license collection organized by Dohar Municipality in Dohar Upazila of Dhaka.
The Secretary said, “We work for the people. We will prioritize the work that benefits the people. Through our work, people should be able to regain their rightful entitlements.”
At the day-long event organized by the municipality, a one-minute silence was observed at the beginning in remembrance of those killed in the July movement. Later, he was briefed about the project under the DPHE-implemented Bangladesh-23 Municipality Water Supply and Sanitation Project and inspected the project constructed in the Yusufpur area of the municipality.
Additionally, the Secretary of the Local Government Jahedi inaugurated the Padmabati building of the Twin Quarter at the Upazila, visited the garbage site and the tourist spot Mainot Ghat, known as the “Mini Cox’s Bazar.” During this time, he also announced the construction of an aesthetic structure over the canal in the Joypara Bazar of the municipality.
Present at the day-long event were: Director General of Local Government Mahmudul Hasan, Joint Secretary Khalilur Rahman, Deputy Secretary Ibadat Hossain, Deputy Director Shawkat Ali, Chief Engineer Abdur Rashid Miah, Chief Engineer of the Directorate General of Health Services Abdus Shahid, Project Director of Water Supply and Sanitation Project Waze Ali, Municipality Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tania Tabassum, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tasfiq Sigbat Ullah, Municipal Executive Engineer Mamunur Rashid, Municipal Executive Officer Abul Kalam and President of Dohar Press Club Tarek Rajib, among others.
