More than two hundred leaders and activists from other political parties and organizations in Barishal have joined the Islami Andolan Bangladesh at the same time.
They formally joined the party by presenting flowers to the senior Nayeb-e-Ameer and Sheikh-e-Charmonai Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim of the Islami Andolan Bangladesh at a ceremony organized in Charmonai on Wednesday afternoon.
The mass gathering was led by former president and public representative of Kashipur Union Volunteer Party Ashraf Ali Howlader (member). He was accompanied by more than a hundred leaders and activists including Habibur Rahman Bachchu (member), Dulal Member, Namunsur Member, Swapan Molla, Shahidul Islam, Kamal Hossain, Siddiqur Rahman, Mannan Howlader and Shahabuddin Sabu.
In addition, more than fifty more activists from BNP and various organizations joined the Islamic Movement under the leadership of Hemayet Howlader and Jabbar Sikder from Ward No. 26.
Among those who attended were Mr. Muhammad Nur Hossain Howlader, a prominent onion vendor in Barisal, and Faruk, a prominent businessman in Barisal, and people from various walks of life.
The leaders of the Islami Andolan Bangladesh Barisal Metropolitan Branch were also present at the event.
Among them were Vice President Maulana Syed Nasir Ahmad Kawsar, Secretary Maulana Abul Khair Ashrafi, Joint Secretary Maulana Azizul Haque, Assistant Secretary Maulana Nasir Uddin Nais, and Associate Propaganda and Dawah Secretary HM Tariqul Islam.
The new members said they joined the Islamic Movement in Bangladesh out of their belief in Islamic values and ideology-based politics.
