Panel Chairman Md. Mosharraf Hossain held a press conference in protest against the spread of false and untrue information on various social media platforms regarding the various activities and responsibilities of the Manikchhari Union Parishad No. 1 of Manikchhari Upazila of Khagrachari.

In a written statement at a press conference held with the administrative officers and working officials of the UP at the Manikchhari Press Club on Tuesday  at 2 pm, he complained, 'After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, I was given the responsibility of the Panel Chairman of Manikchhari Union Parishad No. 1 in October last year. Since then, I have been managing all the responsibilities and activities properly and beautifully. 

 Recently, some identified individuals and several fake social media accounts, jealous of my work, are spreading false, fabricated, misleading, ugly and defamatory propaganda about me and various activities of Manikchhari Union Parishad through social media! Which is very sad, defamatory and completely baseless. In addition, they are spreading false and ugly comments around government offices and Union Parishad, spreading confusion in the public mind! Although I have previously filed a general diary with the police station against a fake ID or page named "Manikchhari News". But after filing a GD against that fake ID or page, that self-interested group is constantly spreading false and fabricated information from its own ID, creating confusion in the public mind. I strongly condemn and protest against these propaganda and expect the cooperation of the media in presenting the real information.

Later, in response to various questions from journalists, Panel Chairman Md.  Mosharraf Hossain further said, 'Due to my long tenure as a public representative and my ability to fulfill public expectations in the past, I have been able to become popular with the general public. As a result, a section of the public has found it difficult to accept this and has resorted to propaganda and false information on social media to tarnish my reputation.'
