World Press Freedom Day was celebrated with due dignity in Satkhira with the theme 'Reporting in a Brave New World - Impact of AI on Independent Media' on Saturday.

The event included an oath to follow the basic principles of journalistic freedom and establishing a free media, evaluate media freedom worldwide, and resist interference in freedom, as well as remembering and honoring the memories of the journalists who sacrificed their lives.

The speakers at the discussion meeting called for an end to all forms of torture, oppression and harassment cases against journalists and said that a law must be made to protect journalists. An environment for independent journalism must be created. All journalists who have been murdered must be brought to justice. The speakers called on all journalists to unite and fulfill their professional responsibilities on the issues of independence, sovereignty, justice and human rights.##
