Retired Govt Employees Welfare Association election held in Gaibandha

The tri-ennial executive committee election of the Bangladesh Retired Government Employees Welfare Association, Gaibandha district unit, was held in a peaceful and orderly manner on Monday at Probina Hitoishi Sangha office.
 
Voting took place continuously from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A total of three panels—Rayhan-Motiar, Mozammel-Razzak, and Malek-Rauf—each with 17 candidates, contested in the election, making a total of 51 candidates.
 
The Rayhan-Motiar panel emerged victorious with 152 votes. Their closest competitors, the Mozammel-Razzak panel, secured 122 votes, while the Malek-Rauf panel received 59 votes.
 
Out of 371 registered voters, 336 cast their votes. Among them, 333 votes were declared valid, while 3 were rejected due to errors.
 
The newly -elected committee members are: Chairman Azad Md. Abu Rayhan Mondal; Vice Chairmen Md. Fazlur Rahman and Md. Khairuzzaman; General Secretary Md. Motiar Rahman; Joint General Secretary Zahidul Bari Ranjoo; Treasurer Md. Khairuzzaman; Joint Treasurer Azizur Rahman; and Executive Members Mahfil Hossain, Nurunnabi Sarkar, Rafiqul Islam, Amir Hossain, Mrs. Monisha Rani, Abdul Mannan Akand, Sakhawat Hossain, Rostom Ali, Habibur Rahman, and Shamsul Islam.
Presiding Officer Md. Shah Alam stated that the election was conducted smoothly without any incidents from start to finish.
