Zakir Hossain, nomination aspirant for BNP  in Sylhet-5 (Zakiganj-Kanaighat) constituency and Convener of UAE BNP, said we do no want to see collaborators of facist government in journalism profession  while addressing a views-exchange meeting with members of   Zakiganj Upazila Press Club  on Thursday  afternoon.

He said,  you are the mirror of society, your work is to highlight irregularities, corruption, and misrule. If we make mistakes, you will present them without hesitation, but do not spread confusion in society over minor mistakes.”

He further said, the people of this constituency and the dedicated leaders and activists of BNP will not accept a candidate from an allied party again. In the past, such decisions created frustration among activists. If this mistake is repeated in the upcoming election, it will cause serious harm to the party. 

The meeting was presided over by Upazila Press Club General Secretary Ahsan Habib Layek and conducted by Executive Member Dr. Habibullah Misbah. Speakers included UAE BNP Convener Zakir Hossain, Sylhet District BNP Vice-President and District Krishak Dal Convener Iqbal Ahmed Tapadar, Jokiganj Municipality BNP President Masuk Ahmed, and General Secretary Shibbir Ahmed Rony.
