World Environment Day celebrated in Gaibandha

On the occasion of World Environment Day, a colourful rally, discussion meeting and award distribution were jointly by the Deputy Commissioner and the Department of Environment on Wednesday.
The theme of the day was plastic pollution and stopping it. The colourful rally starts from the Deputy Commissioner's Office and circled around the city's roads. Government officials, school-college students, environmental workers participated in it.
Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Room with Deputy Commissioner Chowdhury Moazzem Ahmed in the chair.
.Khorshed Alam, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rafiquzzaman, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akhtar, Additional Superintendent of Police Shariful Islam, Assistant Director of the Department of Environment Mohammad Hedayatul Islam spoke.
The speakers said that if the use of pus is not limited in everyday life, the future generations will have to put the dire danger. Everyone needs to be aware of the environmental balance in Gaibandha. Finally, prizes were distributed among the winners of the painting competition in various schools
