World Environment Day celebrated in Gopalganj

A discussion meeting was held in Gopalganj on the occasion of 'World Environment Day 2025' organized by the Department of Environment.
The meeting was held at the conference room of the DC on Wednesday .
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Muhammad Kamruzzaman was the chief guest at the meeting.
Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Sarwar Hossain, Executive Officer of the District Council Amit Debnath, Chairman of the Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology Dr. Muhammad Rasheduzzaman and Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Executive Officer M. Rakibul Hasan were present as special guests.
The meeting was presided over by SM Tarek Sultan, Additional District Magistrate and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue).
Mahfuzur Rahman, Assistant Director, Department of Environment, Gopalganj, delivered the welcome speech at the event.
During the discussion, speakers spoke about the need to increase public awareness to protect the environment and emphasized ensuring environmentally friendly activities of industries.
The meeting was attended by officials from various district-level government departments, officials from the Department of Environment, representatives of Sampriti Aid Foundation, school and college students, and representatives of various industrial institutions.
