
World Environment Day observed in Fulbari

With the slogan “Say No to Plastic Pollution—Time to Act is Now,” Fulbari in Kurigram observed World Environment Day 2025 with various events under the “Child Not Bride” project. The day’s events included sports, a discussion meeting, material distribution, a cultural program, and a drama on child marriage prevention.
The program was organized by the Fulbari Youth Human Service Organization with support from MJSKS and Plan International Bangladesh. The event took place at the playground of Kuthibari Modern High School on Tuesday.
Speakers at the awareness meeting on child marriage prevention included Assistant Officer of the Upazila Youth Development Department Abdur Rahman; Assistant Maulvi and teacher of Kuthibari Modern High School Maulana Mohammad Moin Uddin Mia Selim; Assistant Teacher Manjila Khatun; Field Facilitator of the “Child Not Bride” project under Mohideb Youth Welfare Association (MJSKS) in Fulbari Union Afroza Happy; Field Facilitator Nurjahan Begum (Kashipur Union); Field Facilitator Zahid Hasan (Borovita Union); President of Fulbari Youth Human Service Organization Sanjida Sathi; General Secretary Nazmul Islam; President of Alokito Kashipur Youth Organization Anisur Rahman; President of Naodanga Youth Organization Milon Mia, and many others.
Speakers called for united efforts to prevent child marriage and urged everyone to reduce plastic waste to protect the environment.
