Young man dies in road accident before marriage ceremony in Kurigram

In a tragic turn of events in Kurigram’s Rajarhat, a young man named Moniruzzaman Munna (35) lost his life in a road accident before his turmeric ceremony at 10:30 AM on Tuesday in front of Sakin Majid Memorial Hospital near Najimkhan Bazar in the upazila.
The deceased was the son of Mahfuzar Rahman of Thakurdan area in Banglabazar, Haragachh Municipality, Rangpur district. Munna worked as a salesman for AB Khaled Guls in the Najimkhan area, where he also resided. His gaye holud was scheduled for this very week. But in a cruel twist of fate, his life was cut short before he could fulfill his dreams.
According to locals and police sources, on Tuesday morning, Munna had just left his residence on a motorcycle when a nosimon (locally modified three-wheeler) attempted to avoid hitting another motorcyclist and instead rammed directly into Munna. The impact caused him to fall under the wheels of the trolley, killing him instantly. The trolley then lost control and plunged into a nearby ditch. Upon receiving the news, Rajarhat police arrived at the scene and prepared the inquest report. Family members identified the body after seeing its photo on social media.
Munna had recently registered his marriage with the daughter of one Mokhched Ali from the area near Choumohoni Miller Para Bazar in Chakirposhar Union, Rajarhat upazila. According to family sources, his gaye holud and ceremonial events were scheduled for the upcoming Friday.
On this matter, Rajarhat Police Station’s on-duty Sub-Inspector Bikash Chandra Roy confirmed that an Unnatural Death (UD) case has been filed with the station.
