
10 injured in clash between two villages over trivial Incident in Sirajdikhan

At least 10 people were injured from both sides in a spear fight between two groups over a trivial matter at Bazar Chaurasta in Baluchar Union of Sirajdikhan Upazila, Munshiganj. Ten shops were also vandalized during the incident.
The clash erupted at around 1 PM on Monday between residents of Mollakandi and Khasmahal villages in the union. Upon receiving the news, the army and Sirajdikhan police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Additional police forces are currently deployed in the area. The names and identities of the injured were not immediately known.
According to local sources, Shaheen Beapari (32), son of Suruj Mia of Mollakandi village, had six months of unpaid electricity bills for his battery-operated auto-rickshaw garage in Baluchar Bazar. On Monday afternoon, when an official from the Sirajdikhan Rural Electrification Board came to collect the outstanding bill, Shaheen Beapari had an argument with him. At this time, Sultan Sarder (40), son of Anwar Sarder of Khasmahal village, took the side of the electricity official, leading to a physical altercation between Shaheen and Sultan. This dispute later escalated into a full-blown clash between the two villages. Eventually, stones were thrown, and spears were used in the conflict.
Awlad Hossain, Chairman of Baluchar Union Parishad, stated, "People from two villages got involved in a clash over a trivial matter. About 10 people were injured. The situation is now calm."
Shahed Al Mamun, OC of Sirajdikhan Police Station, said, "A clash occurred over a trivial incident.
