2,458 helpless women get VWB cards in lottery in Baliadangi

Some 2,458 destitute, helpless and abandoned women have been selected for the 2025-26 fiscal year under the VWB (VGD) program through a lottery in Baliadangi, Thakurgaon.
The lottery was held at each Union Parishad office throughout the day on Monday.
UNO Palash Kumar Debnath took this exceptional initiative. The actual beneficiaries were selected through a lottery from among the women who applied online from 8 unions of the upazila.
Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Abu Belal Siddique said that 2,458 beneficiaries were selected in the presence of designated committee members.
UNO Palash Kumar Debnath said, beneficiary elections were held in each union parishad of the upazila in the presence of the secretary of each union parishad and VWB committee members.
