A total of 40 students were awarded in Patnitala Upazila of Naogaon under the Performance-Based Grants for Secondary Institutions Scheme (SEDP), an initiative of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The award ceremony was held on Tuesday at 12 PM in the Upazila Parishad hall room.
The event was presided over by Md. Shahadat Hossain, Naogaon District Education Officer, and conducted by Upazila Academic Supervisor Morshedul Alam. The chief guest was Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Alimuzzaman Milon.
Special guests included Toufiq Erfan, Assistant Director of the Harmonized Stipend Program (HSP); Md. Abdullah Al Mamun (Acting Upazila Secondary Education Officer); and Professor Mohammad Matiur Rahman, Principal of Najipur Government College.
Also present were: Upazila Public Health Engineer Santaj Kumar, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Ashish Kumar Debnath, Upazila Rural Development Officer Pralhad Kumar Kundu, Upazila Agriculture Officer Shoharab Hossain, UISC Assistant Programmer Shams-e-Tabrez, President of Patnitala Press Club Ikhtiar Uddin Azad, Vice President Alomgir Kabir, General Secretary Robiul Islam, and over a hundred teachers and students from various schools, madrasas, and colleges.
Each SSC-level awardee received Tk 10,000, and each HSC-level awardee received Tk 25,000, along with certificates and crests, in recognition of their academic excellence and performance.
Speakers at the event said, today’s students are the leaders of tomorrow. Those who received awards today have brought pride not only to themselves but also to their families, institutions, and the society. Such initiatives by the government encourage students, help them focus more on their studies, and we hope these rewards will boost their confidence and inspire even greater achievements in the future.
