Allegation of embezzlement of money for job against former female UP member in Shibganj alleged

Former reserved member of Ward No. 1, 2, 3 of Mokamtala UP in Shibganj, Bogura, has been accused of embezzling lakhs of taka in the name of providing government houses and various allowance cards.
The victims formed a human chain on the Mokamtala-Joypurhat road in Ganeshpur area of the upazila on Saturday afternoon, demanding justice for former member Monowara Begum.
The victims in the human chain said, "Monowara Begum has cheated the poor in the name of government houses. Although she took huge sums of money from various helpless people by promising them government assistance, they did not get any benefits and did not return the money. Victim Riva Begum said, "We are poor people.
Monowara took Tk 1 lakh on the pretext of providing government houses. But even after four years, she has not provided them with government houses or returned the money. We want a fair trial."
The victims alleged that despite complaints of such irregularities for many days, no effective action has been taken by the administration. They demanded that the accused be brought to justice quickly and given exemplary punishment.
