Allegations of building house by occupying government land in Tongibari

A local man named Sirajul Islam Dhali has been allegedly building a house by occupying government land in Tongibari, Munshiganj.
The incident took place in Dhamaran village of Kathadia Shimulia union of the upazila. The accused is the son of the deceased Awal Dhali of that area.
On going to the spot, it was found that the construction of a house had been started on the north side of the Dhamaran playground in the upazila, but the work is now stopped. Another school building is being built next to it.
It is known that this place is government. In some parts, locals have been playing sports for a long time. Since the land on the north side of the field is low, it was raised with government funding by pouring soil. Sirajul Islam Dhali is building a house there.
In this regard, the accused Sirajul Islam Dhali said that my father-in-law has been occupying this land since before independence. At one time, when the government gave me the opportunity to register the occupied land in my name, my father-in-law registered the land in his name. Later, my father-in-law registered the land in the name of his daughters. I have started building a house on that land.
UP member Kabir said, the land has been filled with government funds. It is government land.
Kathadia Shimulia UP Chairman Anisur Rahman said, this is Bharat Property. The land has been filled with government funds. Since there is a shortage of land for our school, we have planned to build a lower secondary school here. A person named Sirajul Islam is building a house. We stopped him from building a house, but he did not listen to us.
Surveyor of Tongibari Land Office Saiful Islam said, our people went there. I have not gone yet. I will go on the spot and I will be able to tell you in detail. However, that person is saying that his name has been registered, but other people are saying that it is Khas land or Hindu land.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Wazed Wasif could not be reached even after calling him several times.
UNO Md. Mostafizur Rahman said, I have asked AC Land to take appropriate action.
