Ansar-VDP plants 500 saplings, 7,300 palm seeds in Faridpur

The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) completed a special tree plantation drive across all nine upazilas of Faridpur district to mitigate climate change risks and expand green coverage.
The drive was conducted under the slogan "Decorate the country by planting trees, Bangladesh first" on Sunday, with the participation of volunteers and members of the force across the district.
Under the initiative, a total of 7,300 Palmyra palm seeds along with 500 fruit-bearing, timber, and medicinal saplings were planted simultaneously in suitable locations throughout Faridpur.
Ansar-VDP Faridpur District Commandant Deputy Director Chandan Debnath inaugurated the program as the chief guest.
The planting drive was supervised by Assistant Director Nure Alam and local upazila Ansar-VDP officers. Field-level members of the force have been assigned to ensure the ongoing care and maintenance of the newly planted saplings and palm seeds.
