Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia hold high-level talks on transport, logistics, port dev

A high-level bilateral meeting was held on Tuesday at the Bangladesh Secretariat to expand mutual cooperation in transport, logistics, and port development between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
The discussion took place between Sheikh Robiul Alam, the Hon’ble Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping, and a high-level Saudi delegation led by Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, the Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of Saudi Arabia.
The talks focused on key areas of mutual interest, including port infrastructure development, maritime transport, modernization of logistics systems, expansion of investment opportunities, and technology exchange.
During the meeting, the Shipping Minister highlighted Bangladesh's ongoing maritime development initiatives, specifically the capacity enhancement of Chittagong and Mongla ports, as well as mega projects like the Bay Terminal. Emphasizing the country's foreign investment potential, he invited Saudi entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh’s expanding port and logistics sectors.
Dr. Al-Rumaih praised Bangladesh's steady economic progress and maritime advancements, expressing keen interest in strengthening bilateral relations through deeper cooperation in logistics and transport infrastructure.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh, Dr. Abdullah bin Abiah, along with senior officials from both countries. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to elevating the partnership to new heights through collaborative initiatives and regular knowledge sharing.
