Bay rough, warning signal No 3 in Payra Port

Gofran Palash, Kalapara (Patuakhali)

The low pressure formed in the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent north Odisha-West Bengal coastal areas is located in the same area.

It may intensify further. Due to its impact, the Bay of Bengal adjacent to Kuakata in Patuakhali is quite turbulent. The air pressure in the coastal areas has increased slightly. The water in the rivers has started to increase slightly more than normal.

For the past two days, there has been intermittent to moderate rainfall in various parts of the district. The Meteorological Office is warning of gusty or squally winds blowing at a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers over 9 regions of the country including Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali and Cox's Bazar. These river ports have been asked to display warning signal number 01 until 1 pm. In addition, stormy winds may blow through sea ports, the North Bay of Bengal and coastal areas. Therefore, Payra, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla sea ports of Patuakhali have been asked to display local warning signal number 03. Fishing trawlers have been asked to move carefully near the coast.

Former president of the Mahipur Fisheries Owners Cooperative Association, Md. Didar Uddin Ahmed Masum, said that the fishing trawlers are fishing on the seashore. The remaining trawlers are also coming to the shore.
