A new 30-member district committee has been formed for the 2026-2028 term of the Lakshmipur district branch of the Construction Workers Union of Bangladesh (INSAB).

The new committee was announced by the election management committee at the district conference held at the district office of Insab, Lakshmipur, Ramgati Road, on Saturday at 2 pm.

Insab Advisor Advocate Mia Md. Borhan Uddin Bitu was present as the chief guest at the event. Election Steering Committee Member Advocate Md. Ekramul Haque Farvez was the special guest. Insab General Secretary Md. Nur Alam moderated the event.

The announced committee elected Md. Abdul Mabud as president, Abdul Malek as executive president, Humayun Kabir, Shahjahan Bhuiyan, Tajul Islam and Mosharraf Hossain Ripon as vice-presidents. Md. Nur Alam was elected as general secretary. Joint general secretaries Monir Hossain and Md. Zakir Hossain Bablu were elected. Co-general secretaries Jalal Ahmed and Mopaccher Billah were elected.

Besides, Maksudur Rahman has been elected as the organizing secretary, Md. Harunur Rashid, Kabir Hossain Bhuiyan, Liton, Md. Sabuj and Mostafa as co-organizing secretaries, Abu Taher as finance secretary, Hossain Mia as labor affairs secretary, Jasim as education and social welfare secretary, Momtaz Begum as women's affairs secretary, Ruhul Amin Howlader as office secretary, Riaz Hossain as publicity secretary and Ibrahim Ripon as sports secretary.

Apart from this, other members including Lutfur Rahman, Khorshed Alam, Abu Taher, Abdul Mannan, Ershad Mia and Badsha Mia were appointed as executive members.
About three hundred construction workers from different areas of the district were present at the conference. At the time, new committee president Abdul Mabud said that the new committee will play an effective role in ensuring fair wages for workers, safety at work, establishing workers' rights and better organizing the organization.

The announced 30-member committee will serve from 2026 to 2028.
