BNP leader's nephew elected as Chhatra League general secretary in Atgharia has created widespread anger among BNP, its affiliated organizations and Awami League.

Pabna district BNP Convener Habibur Rahman Habib Group's Atgharia Upazila BNP convener Ataur Rahman Rana's nephew Mirajul Islam Saju has been elected as Chhatra League general secretary in Atgharia and the demand to form a new committee acceptable to all quarters has created anger among Awami League, Jubilee League and Chhatra League in Atgharia. At the same time, anger has also been created within BNP.

This information was provided by the sources who came to Ishwardi in person from Thursday afternoon to midnight on the condition of anonymity and received multiple complaints from Atgharia Upazila Awami League, Jubilee League and Chhatra League on mobile phones.

According to the source, the complaint demanded the cancellation of the pocket committee by protesting, denouncing, and stating that the Atgharia Upazila Chhatra League committee signed by Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain and General Secretary Wali Asif Inan was announced on June 22nd, which is extremely biased. Excluding the student leaders and workers who have been active in Upazila Chhatra League politics for a long time, the complaint demanded the cancellation of the pocket committee by protesting, denouncing, and stating that the Atgharia Upazila Chhatra League committee signed by Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain and General Secretary Wali Asif Inan was announced on June 22nd, which is extremely biased.

The election of the nephew of a BNP leader as the general secretary of the Chhatra League, excluding student leaders and activists who have been active in the politics of the Upazila Chhatra League for a long time, has created widespread anger among the BNP and its affiliated organizations and the Awami League.

On June 19, Md. Ashraful Islam was called from abroad to be the president and Mirajul Islam Saju, the nephew of the convener of the Atgharia Upazila BNP, was made the general secretary.

Mirajul Islam Saju had no activities in the politics of the Atgharia Upazila Chhatra League.

It is mentioned that, despite the fact that Habibur Rahman, the convener of Pabna district BNP, is the nephew of Habibur Rahman, the convener of Atgharia Upazila BNP of Habib Group and the former general secretary of Atgharia Upazila BNP, Mirajul Islam Saju was elected as the general secretary and approved by the committee, ignoring the opinions of most Chhatra League leaders and activists. It is extremely regrettable and has created confusion within the party.

The source demanded that the pocket committee be immediately abolished and a new committee formed and approved based on the opinions of the actual majority of Chhatra League leaders and activists to eliminate the dissatisfaction created within the party.
