A controversy has recently erupted around BNP General Secretary Noch Mia Pradhan of Ward No. 9 of Baherarchala area of Sreepur Municipality in Gazipur. Locals claim that he is a victim of political vendetta. Investigations revealed that a local group is trying to politically defame him by spreading false information about a financial dispute.
About a month ago, a local youth named Azizul Haque had a transaction-related dispute with Arju. As part of the settlement regarding the life insurance money of Azizul's wife Taslima, an agreement of one lakh taka was reached with Arju. Although 60 thousand taka was paid out of it, complications arose over the remaining 40 thousand taka. Azizul approached the Nosh Mia Pradhan to resolve the matter socially.
In the presence of local dignitaries, Nach Mia Pradhan heard the arguments of both parties and proposed a compromise. Finally, Azizul agreed to settle the dispute by paying 20,000 taka, which was given to Arzu. Witnesses present said that Nach Mia Pradhan arbitrated impartially and both parties were satisfied.
But after a few days, some local people suddenly provided different information to journalists. News was published accusing Nach Mia of bias and financial irregularities. After investigating the area, it was learned that such a campaign was carried out due to internal conflicts in the BNP and revenge from local politics.
Azizul Haque said in this regard, "Nach Mia Bhai gave us justice. I had no objection. But some people including Mujibur misled me and forced me to lie in front of journalists. They gave wrong information by intimidation. I am sorry for my mistake and apologize to Nach Mia Bhai."
Nach Mia Pradhan has long been known as an active leader of BNP in the Sreepur municipal area. He has influence in local politics. His role in standing up for the helpless and solving social problems is appreciated by the locals. However, a rival group in the political arena has been accused of conspiring at various times, unable to tolerate his popularity.
Several residents of Baherarchala area said, "Noch Mia Pradhan always stands by the helpless and poor people. A vicious circle is running a false campaign against him due to political vendetta. In fact, he has ensured justice for the helpless."
Locals have demanded a thorough investigation into the incident. They say that if the truth is revealed, it will be understood that Nach Mia Pradhan is a victim of political vendetta. If proper action is not taken against those responsible, such propaganda will increase in the future.
