Canal occupied for illegal construction, accused fined Tk 50,000 in Kalapara

Md. Milon Hossain (41) has allegedly illegally constructing structures by occupying a flowing canal in the Rahmatpur area of Kalapara municipal town in Patuakhali on Tuesday afternoon. .
He was also fined Tk 50,000. In default of payment, he will face one month of simple imprisonment.
Kalapara Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Yasin Sadek imposed the fine. He said that such operations will continue to protect government canals and water bodies.
