In a special operation by the Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB), one person has been arrested along with four gold bars on Thursday  under the overall guidance of Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ashraful Haque, the Commanding Officer of 33 BGB, the gold bars were seized from Tetultala in Bhomra, Satkhira Sadar Upazila.

During this operation, Md. Ruhul Amin (68), who was traveling towards Bhomra Port on an easy-bike, was detained on charges of gold smuggling.

The arrested Ruhul Amin is a resident of Alipur village in Satkhira Sadar Upazila, son of the late Hanif Munshi.

A press release signed by Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ashraful Haque, Commanding Officer of Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB), confirmed this information.

The press release stated that based on intelligence indicating that gold would be smuggled into India through the Tetultala area under the jurisdiction of Bhomra BOP of Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB), a skilled operational team from Bhomra BOP strategically positioned themselves at the specified location. During this time, the operational team detained Md. Ruhul Amin, a suspected Bangladeshi citizen, from Tetultala while he was traveling towards the Bhomra border area on an easy-bike. Upon searching the detained Ruhul Amin, one mobile phone and four gold bars, wrapped in cloth around his waist, were recovered.
