Chittagong Multimedia Reporters Unity celebrates its first anniv

A cake cutting ceremony, discussion meeting and special training workshop on multimedia journalism were held to mark the first anniversary of the Chittagong Multimedia Reporters Unity (CMRU).
On Friday afternoon, the organization's first anniversary was celebrated by cutting a cake at the auditorium of the Caritas Chittagong regional office in the city's Panchlaish area. Later, a discussion meeting and special workshops were held.
Rajib Nandi, Associate Professor of the Department of Communication and Journalism, Chittagong University, was the chief guest at the event, chaired by Nurnabi Shawon, convener of the event organizing committee, and moderated by Channel 24's multimedia reporter Julkar Naeem.
The special guests were researcher and writer Dr. Nazmun Nahar, President of Political Reporters Unity Imran Imi, representative of Bangla News 24 and journalist of Prothom Alo Md. Fahim.
CMRU President and Chittagong Multimedia Reporter of Daily Kaler Kantho Abir Ahmed, General Secretary Sajjad Hossain, along with other leaders and members of the organization were present at the event.
On this occasion, a special training workshop titled 'From Scroll to Story - Care and Innovation in Multimedia Journalism' was held. It provided training on various important aspects of multimedia reporting, including news gathering, creative storytelling, and effective application of technology in journalism.
The speakers said that in the rapidly changing era of digital journalism, a multimedia journalist must simultaneously acquire skills in information gathering, verification, video, photography, writing, and creative presentation. The best use of technology while maintaining journalistic standards and credibility is one of the challenges and possibilities of future multimedia journalism.
