Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam attends Govt. Debendra College freshers' reception

Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Afroza Khanam, MP, attended the freshers' reception for honours first-year students at Government Debendra University College in Manikganj as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event held on Sunday morning at 11:00 AM, she highlighted the institution's 84-year legacy of spreading the light of education. She noted that Language Martyr Rafiquddin Ahmed was an alumnus of the college and recalled the institution's proud contributions to national democratic movements, ranging from the Language Movement and the War of Liberation to the July uprising of 2024.
Encouraging the newly enrolled students, Minister Afroza Khanam urged them to draw inspiration from patriotism and actively contribute to nation-building. "Martyr President Ziaur Rahman taught us how to love our country," she remarked.
Expressing her dedication to the local community, she said, "I have come to serve you, and I have received your love. Following the ideals of my father, I want to repay the debt of your love through the expansion of education and various developmental activities across Manikganj." She concluded by seeking the prayers and blessings of everyone present.
Prior to the main reception ceremony, the Minister inaugurated the newly established "Martyr Zia," "Liberation War," and "July Memorial Corners" on the college campus.
The program was attended by Member of Parliament for Manikganj-1 S. A. Jinnah Kabir, senior district administration officials, college faculty members, students, and local dignitaries.
