 Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, urged media professionals to play an active role in countering disinformation and objective reporting to safeguard the image of the country and government.

He made the call as chief guest at a comprehensive program held at the Bakshiganj Upazila Parishad auditorium in Jamalpur on Friday morning The event was organized to mark his assumption of office as Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, the distribution of government financial assistance and fire extinguishers to local puja mandaps, the inauguration of Tree Fair 2026, the distribution of tree saplings, financial grant checks from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to underprivileged individuals, corrugated iron sheets and checks to disaster-affected families, and financial aid to traders affected by recent fires.

Addressing journalists present at the event, the Minister stated that certain banned groups are engaged in propaganda campaigns against the government on social media platforms. He urged media personnel to step forward out of patriotic responsibility and promote objective news to counter false information.

Highlighting energy management and national progress, the Civil Aviation Minister noted that the government, under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is working continuously to address gas and electricity shortages while urging citizens to remain patient given global conflict situations.

He added that the government enjoys strong international support, noting that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met US President Donald Trump during a visit to the United States, during which President Trump lauded Bangladesh's ready-made garment sector.

Addressing government officials, the Minister called for close coordination between politicians and civil servants to maintain law and order ahead of Sharadiya Durga Puja, while reiterating a zero-tolerance policy against illegal drugs and encouraging youth engagement in sports and education.

Prior to his speech, the Minister inaugurated Tree Fair 2026 on the Bakshiganj Upazila Parishad premises and planted a sapling. Local government officials and leaders of the BNP attended the function.
