Coast Guard detained four traffickers with 25,000 yaba tablets in Teknaf

In two separate anti-drug drives, the Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested four suspected drug traffickers along with 25,000 yaba tablets in Teknaf upazila, officials said on Thursday afternoon.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon disclosed this information in a press release.
According to the Coast Guard, acting on a tip-off, an operational team from the Shahpori Outpost conducted a special drive in the Naf River near Noapara under Teknaf police station on Wednesday night. During the operation, authorities intercepted a suspicious wooden boat entering Bangladesh from Myanmar and recovered 20,000 yaba tablets valued at approximately 1 crore taka, seizing the boat and detaining three suspected traffickers in the process.
In a separate operation earlier that evening at around 8:00 PM, a team from the Teknaf Coast Guard Station raided the Shilbunia Para area based on confidential information. They apprehended another drug dealer along with 5,000 yaba tablets estimated to be worth 2.5 million taka.
The seized narcotics, the boat, and the detained individuals have been handed over to local authorities for further legal proceedings.
The Coast Guard reiterated its commitment to continuing strict operations to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs.
