
Coast Guard detained two with 17.5 -kg of cannabis in Chadpur

Bangladesh Coast Guard in an operation arrested two drug smuggler with 17.5 kg of cannabis worth about Tk 550,000 in Chadpur.
Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-ar-Rashid disclosed the information through a press release on Friday morning.
The press release says, based on secret information, on Thursday, at 2 pm, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Chandpur in the area adjacent to Chandpur Sadar Launch Terminal. During the operation, a search was carried out on the Dhaka-bound launch named "Agradoot Plus" departing from Chandpur, and two drug traffickers were arrested with 17.5 kg of cannabis worth Tk 525,000.
Details of the arrested drug traffickers: Md. Bahadur (48), a resident of Chandpur, and Arifur Rahman Ishan (22), a resident of Comilla district.
Later, the seized drugs and the arrested traffickers were handed over to Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station for legal action.
To maintain the law and order situation in the country, the Bangladesh Coast Guard is conducting 24-hour patrols. As a result, the law and order situation in the coastal and riverside areas under the jurisdiction of the Coast Guard and the prevention of all types of trafficking have significantly improved. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future.
