Coast Guard detained two women with 60,000 Yaba tablets in Teknaf

The Bangladesh Coast Guard detained two women and seized 60,000 pieces of Yaba tablets during a successful anti-narcotics operation in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district on Thursday afternoon.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon disclosed this in a press release stating that the confiscated contraband has an estimated market value of approximately Tk 3 crore.
Acting on a secret tip-off, a specialized operational team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a targeted raid at around 3:00 PM in the area adjacent to Keruntoli under Teknaf Police Station.
During the drive, law enforcers intercepted two women whose movements appeared highly suspicious. Upon searching them, the team recovered the massive haul of Yaba tablets hidden in their possession and immediately took them into custody.
The detained drug traffickers and the seized narcotics are currently being processed for subsequent legal action through the local police station.
The Coast Guard will maintain its uncompromising stance and continue such rigorous enforcement operations in the future to curb the spread of deadly drugs and secure the country's coastal regions, the presa release added.
