Coast Guard issues special warning to fishermen, vessel owners amidst adverse weather

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has issued a special warning to all coastal fishermen, trawler owners, and boat operators, urging them to refrain from venturing into the sea due to ongoing adverse weather conditions.

Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon, Media Officer of the Coast Guard.informed  this information on Saturday morning,

 The press release said, Bangladesh Coast Guard remains prepared at all times to ensure public safety, manage disasters, and conduct rescue operations across the nation's coastal and maritime regions.

As the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a Local Warning Signal No. 3 for coastal areas, the movement of trawlers, fishing boats, and other vessels in the sea has become extremely hazardous. In light of this, the Coast Guard has requested that no trawlers or boats venture into the sea for fishing or any other purpose until further instructions are provided by the Meteorological Department.

The Coast Guard further urged all trawlers, fishing boats, and other vessels currently at sea to return to safe shelter immediately. Owners of all vessels and trawlers have been specifically requested to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of their crafts and crews.

The Bangladesh Coast Guard South Zone is monitoring the situation around the clock and remains on high alert to ensure public safety. For any emergency needs or to report incidents at sea, the public is encouraged to contact the Bangladesh Coast Guard's emergency service number at 16111.
